ttF Fashion Staples Series Diary: Mother’s Day Brunch
My mom is ridiculously cool. Instead of going to a country club or a traditional Sunday brunch spot, she chose a hip eatery in Memphis called The Beauty Shop. The restaurant used to be a beauty parlor in the 60s and you can dine sitting in a hair-dryer chair! Of course, we had my mom sit in that one.

The food was delish but my favorite part of the meal was hands down the grits. It was my first time eating grits and they were phenomenal. I just hope I can find somewhere in LA where I get Southern comfort food because I know I’ll be craving them very soon.

After brunch, we headed to Germantown to see the trail of painted ponies. My mother’s favorite was this mirrored one called Reflections, dedicated to a couple celebrating their 60th Anniversary. My mom calls it Disco Horse. Again, she’s very cool. It’s just one of the many reasons why she’s my best friend.
