Best Friends Animal Society is one of my favorite charities. I’ve volunteered both at their animal sanctuary in Utah and have worked with them in LA for their NKLA initiative. So when they asked me to join their More Than A Cone campaign, I obviously jumped at the opportunity!

Artists were asked to re-imagine the “cone of shame” and transform the uncomfortable plastic pieces into works of art. Being in fashion I instantly knew I wanted to create something wearable. A skirt was a no-brainer. I felt like I was on an episode of Project Runway as I filled my balcony with Swarovski crystals and art supplies from Michael’s. Mixed prints is one of my fave trends this season so I created two floral patterns with acrylic paint. I then use duct tape to keep parts of the plastic sheer so the prints could peek through. I secured the layers with lots of E-6000 glue then used velcro to make the skirt adjustable.

I wore the skirt with the official More Than A Cone shirt and added statement necklaces like I suggested in my Graphic Tees episode. Bunny Bell, my Pomeranian mix rescue, wanted to get in on the prints trend too so she slipped into her polka dot harness for our mini photo shoot.
