February is a tricky month for buying clothing. You’re over winter but it’s too cold to wear new spring purchases. So I look for trends that transition from season to season. One is pastels aka my obsession during fashion week. Take this dress, for example. I’ll be wearing it next month with bare legs and strappy sandals. But I didn’t want to wait to show it off. So while I was in New York, I added a fuzzy coat and tights. I really liked how the colors sprayed a bit of spring in the frigid cold city (I only took the coat off for a millisecond to show you what the dress looks like).
Kate Spade also lives by the theory that sweet colors work any time of the year. Her presentation was bursting with one of fall’s biggest hues (hope you like pink!). Her collection, which was inspired by a “whimsical fairytale,” had all her signature elements: bows, sparkly shoes and, of course, the most adorable cheeky clutches.
