Longer coats, jackets and vests are making a major comeback. Ever since I posted the D is for Dusters video I’ve gotten a bunch of questions from my petite readers asking if shorties can wear the trend. The quick answer? Yes! The longer answer? You do have to think about proportions. See how to wear a trench coat if you’re short.
When you’re tall, it’s totally fine to wear a coat that literally dusts the floor. But if you’re shorter look for one that falls at your calf or above the ankle. Another thing to remember is what to wear underneath. While I love the look of a wide leg pant under a long coat, I’ve realized that it overwhelms my body. So I stick to a skinny jean. I did a high waist jean with my trench coat so I could do a crop top underneath to show a peek of skin. You can also wear the longer style with a dress or skirt like I did in my video.
Speaking of longer lengths, did you notice my hair in some of my recent posts? While I was at fashion week, I was invited to try out RPZL. It’s a salon in New York where you get matched with hair extensions then get a blow out. I’ve been playing around with my new clip-ins in LA and love the fullness and length!
