I had so much fun doing weekend wear posts with you guys so I’m going to continue doing more casual looks on the blog on Fridays. Definitely, let me know if there are certain styles you want to see! Today is actually a super simple DIY. If we’re friends on Snapchat (I’m @sydnesummer) you already saw the process. Basically, I’ve been wanting to try out the cropped flare denim trend for Spring. My friend said she just cuts her flares so I decided to attempt it with an old pair of flare jeans.
First, I marked just above my ankle with a black marker then cut across. You don’t have to worry about it being perfectly even since they’re going to be frayed. I followed this guide on how to fray jeans and used tweezers and a pumice stone to get a worn in look. It was a super quick process and a great way to try out the trend without investing in new denim!
While it’s still a little cool out, stripes and the cold shoulder are a great way to inject some spring trends into your casual style (this chunky sweater made that simple!). Add booties to your cropped flares and you can still keep cozy in cooler temps while looking current for the new season. I hope everyone has a great weekend!
