I was thrilled to partner with Mary Kay again this year to head backstage for Tracy Reese at New York Fashion Week. This season, the designer mixed things up and showcased women of all shapes, ages and colors at her presentation. The inspiration was the feminine spirit. And both the makeup and clothing reflected the empowering theme.
Before attending the presentation, I got to do a makeover with Mary Kay in my room at the NoMo Soho. I asked for a glammed up natural look and couldn’t have been more thrilled with the soft, romantic results. My favorite products used were the Mineral Powder Foundation (it was great for lasting all day!) and Creme Lipstick in “Sweet Nectar” (I ended up wearing the shade almost the entire rest of the week!). I also got a peek into Mary Kay’s new limited edition Runway Bold Collection. The metallic nail lacquers are to die for. I can’t wait to try out the rose gold for Fall.
Backstage, I chatted with Luis Casco, Global Beauty Ambassador for Mary Kay, about the feminine and bold women of the presentation. Their looks were inspired by “beautiful gardens of begonias, featuring pops of color to enhance the natural beauty of women.” In addition to the makeup, I was drooling over Mary Kay’s metallic nail lacquers, which are part of the limited edition Runway Bold Collection.
I hope you enjoy my photo diary from getting ready to backstage and the beautiful show itself. I’ll be doing a post later this week recapping my Tracy Reese outfit but wanted to share a little sneak peek of that as well. The presentation was so interactive you actually got to sit in the same spaces as the models!
