Happy first day of Fall! To kick off the new season I wanted to chat about color. Introducing a pop of color into your wardrobe is such an easy way to update your look. You can go with a piece of clothing or a simple accessory. Every season, Pantone, the color authority in fashion, releases their color trend report. Here are the top trends for the season:

Blues

Fall 2016 is the season to be blue… in fashion that is. Pantone release two shades called “Riverside” and “Airy Blue.” One is cool and calming and the other is a more icy pastel. But really, any shade of blue goes for the season.

Greens

There are two ways to wear green this season. Earthy olives are big, especially since the military trend is back. And Pantone also named a more vibrant shade, “Lush Meadow,” which will be great as we enter holiday season later this year.

Reds

I always think of red as a power color. So I was thrilled to see the vibrant “Aurora Red” in Pantone’s report. Another shade that’s popular is red’s more orange cousin, “Potter’s Clay.” It’s a rusty hue that is great for for embracing the earthy trend.

Pinks

If you’re a fan of pink you’re in luck, because the color is just as popular as ever. Pantone named two shades, a deeper rose called “Dusty Cedar” and a more purple shade called “Bodacious.” I personally love pink and purples with grays and blacks. But if you want to be adventurous you can try the popular pink and yellow pairing.

Yellows

I think I like saying this one more than I like wearing it: “Spicy Mustard.” The zesty yellow can be a little tricky to wear but a great way to add a pop of color with your accessories.

Neutrals

The top two neutrals for the season are “Sharksin,” aka gray, and “Warm Taupe.” Worn on their own, a neutral color palette is incredibly sophisticated. They also make a great base for any of the other colors on this list!

I am so excited that blue is the “it” color this fall. Thank you for putting this post together because I did not know that.
