As much as I adore color, one of my favorite trends for fall is neutrals. Taupe and grey are the top neutral tones for the season and they blend together beautifully. While I was in New York, I had to go from a show to a very important meeting. So I needed an outfit that was chic enough for fashion week but sophisticated enough to speak in front of executives. Monochromatic neutrals did just the trick.
I went with a vanilla sleeveless turtleneck, but if it’s cooler where you live you could do one with sleeves. Then I did high-rise grey pants coupled with matching heels to make myself look taller. The great thing about dressing in the same color from head-to-toe is as long as you play with different textures, like I did here with knit, suede and leather, you can mix different tones.
We took these photos before my meeting on the roof of my hotel, NoMo Soho. It was an overcast day and the New York skyline perfectly blended with my beige and grey look. It’s as if the city knew I was using my surroundings for fashion inspiration.
