When I first tried on this blue velvet dress my initial thought was to pair it with metallic accessories. Then I saw Anna Kendrick wearing two different blue velvet dresses on the red carpet with black heels and was immediately inspired. While I thought the strappy black shoes Anna wore with her Marc Jacobs dress were perfect for the mini length, my dress had more of a minimalist vibe, like the Gabriella Hearst dress the actress wore to Elle‘s Women in Hollywood Awards. So I went with a simple ankle strap sandal. I just got these black tassel earrings, which I felt added the perfect touch of holiday spirit to the look.

Yours is much better!
I know I’m quite late to the game here seeing as this post is over 5 years old, but I just came across it while doing some online browsing and shopping for my wife’s birthday. This dress is absolutely gorgeous on you! So elegant and delightfully feminine. The tassel earrings and bling are perfect, the clutch super cute and the perfect accessory. And those ankle strap heels — perfection. Your attention to detail is unrivaled. You clean up well, Ms. Sydne! Simply stunning. (The shot of you walking away from the camera is worthy of framing!) Thanks for the shopping inspiration!
