One of the tricky parts about New York fashion week is you want to start showcasing spring trends but the weather is always frigid! So I usually use a lot of layering tricks. One of the tricks I did for February fashion week was layering a turtleneck under a maxi dress.
Come Spring, I’ll be wearing this floral maxi dress with sandals for breezy nights out. But in the cold New York weather, I layered a turtleneck underneath, added over the knee boots and used sheer tights for an extra layer of warmth. One of my favorite parts about this dress is the built in slip, which is perfect for the wind. And boy was it windy at fashion week!
I also love the color. My friends and I argued for hours whether it was blue or black. I said midnight blue. They were convinced it was black. But when I ran into New York’s men in blue outside my hotel, Nomo Soho, I knew I was right. The dress fit in perfectly with their dark blue uniforms. So we obviously had to take a photo!
