This Shirt Saved Me From Freezing in the Cold!

Sydne Style reviews uniqlo heattech for best cold weather shirts in winter

As most of you know, I’m the biggest baby when it comes to cold weather. Embarrassing fact: when I moved to LA from Miami, I thought Los Angeles was freezing! Let’s just say I had a major shock to the system when I headed back east to attend college in Boston. I wish I knew about the Uniqlo Heattech Collection back then. It’s seriously the most awesome invention. This post is by no means sponsored. I just had to share in case you’re shivering in the cold wherever you live.

Uniqlo has a collection of innerwear that literally generates heat from your body. The technology is pretty incredible. I first tried it during a last minute ski trip to Whistler the weekend before fashion week. I layered a long sleeve top and leggings from their warmest collection, Ultra Warm, under my ski gear and I wasn’t cold at all on the slopes!

For fashion week, I opted for their middle level warmth, Extra Warm, which is a really thin fabric that’s great for layering. I wore the crew neck long sleeve top under all my turtlenecks. And on slighter milder days, I simply used the top as a long sleeve tee under my coats. If you check out my fashion week vlog, you can see my friends were obsessed, too!

Even though it looks so lightweight and comfortable I definitely believe you when you say it’s warm. I hate cold weather as well and I’ll do anything to not feel cold and usually I’d go for thick wool pieces but lately, I’ve started to realize technology is pretty advanced and there can be thin and comfortable pieces that are just as warm. I’m definitely gonna check these out.

The pink coat looks fabulous. I love it with blue jeans, but I would opt for another colour of the bag. Maybe the clear one, white or even light blue… Thank you for such a colourful look.
