I love adding a pop of color to black and white outfits year-round. Last week, I showed how to add a pop of color to white summer dresses with bright pink lipstick. This week, I was inspired by Victoria Beckham to make a classic black and white casual outfit pop with the neon trend.
From ankles up, Victoria Beckham’s outfit is pretty timeless. You can never go wrong with a classic white tee and black jeans. But then you notice her neon green pumps and the outfit is instantly 2019 (had they been neon platform sneakers, the outfit could have easily been Spice Girls ’90s). Victoria inspired me to spice up my jeans and t-shirt combo (my white tee is only $4!) with a similar pair of neon pumps I had in my closet. Speaking of neon, I’m in my hometown this week, where I first fell in love with neon… Miami! Growing up in ’80s and ’90s in South Florida, I’ve always been obsessed with neon. There is something so electric about the city. I’ve shared photos before of how I rocked neon when I was still leaving teeth for the tooth fairy. But times have certainly changed! Now it’s all about classic outfits with a pop of neon color, like this one inspired by Victoria or this white look I wore earlier in the spring. What about you? Are you into the neon trend?
