After I got all my holiday gifts shopping done online this Black Friday, I started to look for items for myself. When shopping Cyber Weekend deals, I always think about items I’m going to wear a lot. It’s hard not to get caught up on major savings so I have to limit myself. One classic piece I know I’ll wear all holiday season, and for years to come, is the little black dress.

I’m generally always cold. So I like long sleeve little black dresses for holiday parties. That way I don’t have to worry about wearing a shrug or outerwear inside. I usually follow a few simple fashion rules when shopping for long sleeve dresses:

Go modest up top with minis

When I want to show off my legs, I like to keep my neckline very modest. This long sleeve lace dress has a mock turtleneck neckline, which I showed off by pulling my hair into a ponytail. To elongate my legs in the mini dress I added black pumps (40% off this cyber weekend with code 55332).

Revealing up top means covering bottom

Add texture for interest
