ttF Fashion Diary: Scarf Vest

ttF Fashion StapleFloral Scarf
Last year I showed how to tie a scarf as top. It’s a fun DIY that I tried again tonight for a photography exhibit and dinner. First, you put on a cami with a deep v-neck. Next, you drape the scarf around your neck and belt it. You adjust the scarf so it covers most of the cami and voila! You have your very own DIY vest. From the front it looks like a beautiful printed top, so if you layer a jacket over it nobody will ever realize it’s a vest. While my silk one from last year was more streamlined, I like how this chiffon version bunched up to create a peplum shape.

Bindya New York scarf worn as top, Linea Pelle belt, Forever 21 jeans, Bebe jacket, lia sophia bracelets, Charlotte Russe earrings, Fringed Mini Crossbody Bag c/o Express, Manolo Blahnik heels, Essie nailpolish in Tangerine

Since there is a cami underneath you see a belted cami in back. So it looks as if you’re wearing a vest. It’s more slimming than the peplum shape carrying around the back if you want to downplay your backside. I will make sure to take a pic in back next time I do the trick.
