It’s rare that I plan outfits far in advance. But after attending the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic last year, hats were on my mind. While visiting my parents in Del Mar, I spotted a gorgeous topper in a little shop on Cedros. My wonderful mother took note and the hat was wrapped with a bow under our Christmas tree.  It provided decoration to my bedside lamp until this weekend when it made it’s debut at the third annual polo match at Will Rogers State Park.

I wanted a vintage feel to go with the hat but with my crazy schedule I didn’t have much time to shop. Luckily, H&M had this gorgeous dress in cream, which was the color of the day. Not only did my friends all wear cream (I promise it wasn’t planned!), celebrities including Ashley Greene and Lauren Conrad sported the neutral, too.

We had such a wonderful day sipping champagne, watching the horses and snapping pics galore. I can’t wait to do it all over again next year!
