So far in the TRESemmé Throwback Thursday series, I’ve headed back to the glamorous 40s and swanky 60s. For my final installment I took inspiration from the sleek minimalism of the 90s. As much as I adore a good statement necklace, sometimes understated can be nice for a change. And nothing goes better with minimalist fashion than smooth, glossy locks.
Growing up, my hair naturally dried straight. So I used to wear it in a side part like Kate. Over the years, my hair has changed texture and now dries with a bit of a wave. That’s where TRESemmé Keratin Infusing Shampoo and Conditioner comes in. It gets rid of any frizz and delivers incredibly sleek hair.
After shampooing and conditioning, I towel dried my hair and used TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Heat Protection Shine Spray to seal in shine while protecting from the heat. Then, I created a natural side part and blow-dried my hair straight using a flat brush. Once my hair was completely dry, I used a flat iron to get it extra straight. I finished it off with TRESemmé Smooth & Silky Anti-Frizz Secret Cream, to bring back the moisture and tame flyaways.
I must say, I was very impressed with how my hair held up! Inspired by Kate, I slipped on skinny jeans, a silky blouse and minimal jewelry for a dinner date in Santa Monica. Even with the misty ocean air, my hair didn’t frizz up. It works in extreme humidity too! While I was in NY, TRESemmé stylist Tyler Laswell created a similar look and it stayed all night long—during a heat wave!
I really hope you guys enjoyed this throwback series. I had such a blast doing it! It’s always fun to look to the past for fashion and beauty inspiration.
