Red Carpet Inspiration: 2015 Oscars

As much as I would love to be able to wear a red carpet gown on the weekend, it’s very rare you have a chance to get as glam as the stars at the Oscars. But there were a couple of trends from the Academy Awards that you can easily work in every day life…

Pearls were a huge theme of the night. Lupita’s gown was created with over 6,000 pearls! Julianne’s custom embellishments didn’t actually have pearls, but it had the feeling of the gemstone. Work the trend for any occasion with a pearl embellished sweater, top, jacket or dress—and since these didn’t take over 900 hours to make like Julianne’s they’re super affordable.

Another trend I really liked was turquoise jewelry. It fits right in with the current Western trend that’s carrying over into next season. It majorly pops on black and white. But you can also wear it with color like America. I especially like turquoise jewelry with denim or yellow as well.

And just for fun, here are my top six best dressed of the night. Who were your faves?
