Halloween has always been my favorite holiday. I usually plan my costumes well in advance but because of all my recent traveling, I didn’t get a chance to think about it until a few days before. My boyfriend and I were attending a friend’s charity Halloween costume party so we wanted a classy couples costume. By ordering just a few items online (thank goodness for two-day shipping!), digging through our closets and a little Friday night crafting we created an easy DIY couples costume: a magician and his white rabbit.
Since my boyfriend was working all day, I enlisted my fave male blogger, Rey of Reyal Fashion, to do a Halloween photo shoot. I linked to the items we used but if you’re looking for last minute costume ideas you could easily pick up the accessories at your local Halloween store. Here’s what you’ll need:
DIY White Rabbit Costume
- white dress
- bunny ears
- bunny tail
- white sandals
- faux fur trim
Start with a white dress from your closet. Mine is by Elliatt (similar options here and here). For my headband, I went with lace bunny ears for a more fashion forward look. Then I used faux fur trim to accessorize. I glued strips to the headband (E6000 is my favorite glue for DIY projects. Just allow at least 12 hours for it to dry).
I also glued faux fur trim to an old pair of white sandals and added little white pom-poms in back. If you don’t want to ruin your sandals or buy a new pair, you can always create furry ankle cuffs. Simply cut two strips and fasten them with safety pins, which I did for my furry bracelets. I also used the faux fur trim to create a belt so I could tie the bunny tail in back, instead of attaching it directly to the dress.
I happened to have this adorable Charming Charlie faux fur clutch, which was the perfect handbag for the outfit. But a white bag would work as well.

DIY Magician Costume
- cape
- top hat
- magic wand
- white gloves
- white button-down shirt
- black pants
- black vest or blazer
For the magician costume, start with a white button-down shirt. Then you can do slacks and a vest like Rey. Or get use out of your tuxedo like my boyfriend did (here’s a pic of us before the Halloween party). Rey happened to have this fabulous cape. With my boyfriend’s costume, we actually recycled his vampire costume from a previous year and simply tucked in the collar of the cape.
Then you just need to accessorize. We went all out with a top hat, wand, white gloves, magic flowers (aka fresh roses), playing cards and a bright handkerchief. But even just a few of these pieces will do the trick!

Where did he get that cape though!?
Cool idea for costumes. I hope that by next Halloween I’ll have a girl to dress up like this with.
I hope that everyone is lucky in finding partners who are not afraid to look ridiculous or ridiculous in such costumes. If you have not yet found a person like me, then I have something to advise you. I was alone for a long time and did not have a partner. I don’t know why this is happening, I was even interested in learning more about it, so I started looking for information about it on the Internet and found this article https://recentpastnation.org . Read it, it will be useful for both men and women to know about it.
