3 Ways to Make a Cardigan Set Look Modern

Sydne Style shows cool ways to wear a cardigan for fashion blogger style in talbots and expressI used to have cardigan sets in just about every color. I started collecting them when I decide to got to college in Boston. I wantedĀ my entire wardrobe toĀ be preppy chic, just like the cast ofĀ Legally Blonde. Over the years, I parted with most of my cardis. But I’ve recently gotten back into the matching sets.

These days, instead of paring cardigans with pearls, I’m mixing them with more currentĀ pieces in my wardrobe. Here are the three pieces I use to make a cardigan set look modern:

1. Distressed Denim

I’ve literally been living in these denim leggings ever since I DIYed the hem.

2. Cross-body Bag

Whether it’s my splurge from Paris or this more affordable black cross-body (now on sale!), there’s something about a chain that instantly makes an outfit feel more now.

3. Shoes with Trendy Touches

Two shoe trends I’m loving right now: anything and everything lace-up (how cute are these flats on sale?!) and plastic inserts.
