While there were many incredible looks at the 2017 Met Gala, Priyanka Chopra was my absolute favorite. I thought her Ralph Lauren trench coat gown had just the right amount of drama, sex appeal and androgyny. Now the Met Gala isn’t usually a place for everyday fashion inspiration. The gowns are over the top! But the actress did inspire me to rethink a khaki dress I had in my wardrobe.

I originally planned to wear this khaki dress for daytime with neutral sandals. But after seeing Priyanka, I rethought my styling and realized that with an edgy black shoe, the dress totally works for night.  My shorter hairstyle doesn’t allow for an topknot. So instead I pulled it back into a sleek ponytail and added statement earrings.
