Not sure what you’re wearing this New Year’s Eve? That’s okay. I have a New Year’s Eve makeup look that will work for any outfit! For the final day of 12 Days of Holiday Style, I teamed up with Mary Kay® to bring you a New Year’s makeup idea that will match anything you decide to wear to ring in 2019.
The new Mary Kay® Chromafusion™ Collection has 33 matte and shimmer eye shadow shades, 10 blush shades, two highlight and two contour shades. Talk about endless beauty possibilities! Mary Kay® Global Beauty Ambassador, Luis Casco, helped me create a sparkly, neutral beauty look that works with any color outfit this New Year’s Eve.
eyes
The shadows in the Mary Kay® Chromafusion™ Collection have a rich pigment, which means they’ll last from 2018 into 2019. Unlike a lot of other eye shadows, these go on smoother with a creamier effect. Plus, the fallout is minimal, which is especially great when applying shimmer. To create a neutral sparkly eye, Luis started with the shade “Blossom” as a matte neutral base. He then layered and blended in “Hazelnut” and “Cinnabar” to the crease for a defined eye. For the lid, “Golden Mauve” provided the perfect rose gold shimmer to ring in the New Year.
PRO TIP: WHEN USING SHIMMER EYE SHADOW, TAP THE SHADOW ONTO THE EYE INSTEAD OF WIPING ON WITH A BRUSH. THIS PROVIDES MORE INTENSE COLOR AND LESS FALL OUT.
cheeks & face
To define the face, Luis used a contour and a blush from the Mary Kay® Chromafusion™ Collection. The “Latte” contour shade gives just the right amount of shadow. And I love the light shimmer in the “Shy” blush.
lips
I wanted a pop of color on my lips, while still keeping an overall natural feel. To achieve this, Luis first applied the Mary Kay® Gel Semi-Matte Lipstick in “Midnight Red,” which goes on much lighter than it looks in the tube. It’s really hydrating and lasts even after your second glass of champagne. For a touch of shimmer and glam, we added the Mary Kay® NouriShine Plus® Lip Gloss in the shade “Pink Luster.” A bonus? It helps hydrate your lips, making them ready for your New Year’s kiss!
