Happy December! I’m so excited to kick off my 12 Days of Holiday Style today. Over the next twelve days, I’ll be sharing holiday party outfit ideas for every festive occasion. To kick things off, I teamed up with one of my fave beauty brands, Mary Kay, to bring you three different colorful eye makeup looks.

When in doubt this holiday season, it’s always safe to reach for a little black dress. One way to differentiate yourself from the crowd is with your makeup. I love the look of a bold colorful eye to brighten up any lbd in your wardrobe. And the new Mary Kay Chromafusion™ Collection has every shade you need to switch up your makeup for the holidays.

With this collection, you can customize your own palette choosing from 33 eye shadow shades, 10 blush shades, two highlight and two contour shades. Today I am excited to focus on eyes.Mary Kay Chromafusion™ Collection eye shadows have rich pigment that last 12 hours. Seriously, I’ve done my eyes in the morning and the shadow is just as gorgeous in the late evening!

For today’s holiday eye makeup inspiration, I enlisted the help of Mary Kay Global Beauty Ambassador, Luis Casco, to bring you three ideas to add a pop of color using the Mary Kay Chromafusion™ Collection. Plus, Mary Kay was sweet enough to team up for a giveaway to allow one lucky Sydne Style reader the chance to create her own custom palette (valued at over $300!). Keep reading for deets on how to enter!

#1 Bold Colorful Cat eye

For our first look, Luis created a bold, colorful cat eye. I’m a huge fan of cat eyes for any type of party because they add a major glam factor. To make things a little more festive for the holidays, we did it in emerald. The key to this look? Using two different shades of one color.

“When doing a colorblock eye, there is a difference between editorial vs wearable. Using one shade is more dramatic. Using two shades is more wearable, especially when one shade is matte and the other is shimmer.” – Luis Casco

To create an emerald cat eye, Luis combined Emerald Noir & Moss layered over a neutral base like “Biscotti” from the Mary Kay Chromafusion™ Collection. But you can really do any color that speaks to you. Just remember to use two shades of whatever color you choose!

#2 Colorful Smoky Eye

The second look is great for a fancier affair: the colorful smoky cat eye. Instead of a traditional smoky eye, Luis brought in purple tones to create this holiday eye makeup look. Having green eyes, I especially love the plum shades. They really make green eyes pop.

Pro tip: To get the perfect smoky eye, Luis recommends using one brush to apply color and then a new clean brush to blend!

For our plum eye, Luis used Merlot and Dusty Rose (plus Blossom as a base and Candlelight to highlight) from from the Mary Kay Chromafusion™ Collection. You can easily do this with other shades. Just remember to blend, blend, blend! The shadows are very blendable and buildable, plus are crease-free and fade proof making it easy to go as bold as you choose.

#3 Colorful Eye Liner

For the third look, Luis created a fun way to play with color when you’re in a rush to do your makeup. It’s so easy to recreate! You keep your eye lids mostly neutral. On me, he specifically used Hazelnut, Cinnabar and Biscotti. Then the bottom is where you have fun with color. We played with blue by using Starry Night from the Mary Kay Chromafusion™ Collection on the lower lashline. What I love about the rich pigment, is there is barely any fall out. So you don’t have to worry about the color dusting all over your face when you apply!
