When it comes to coats, my rule of thumb is to splurge on classic coats and to save my money on trendy coats. I keep the classic ones for years and I’ll rotate trendy ones in my closet to save room. During my trip to Lake Arrowhead, I wore two neutral coats with the same outfit for a completely different look.
Classic Neutral Coats
You can never go wrong with a wrap coat. The belt nips the waist, creating an hourglass silhouette, which never goes out of style. I fell in love with the shawl collar on this taupe wrap coat (now on sale!). There are only a few sizes left so I rounded up a few more classic options below:
Trendy Neutral Coats
One of the biggest coat trends right now is the teddy coat. Like it sounds, it’s warm and fuzzy like a teddy bear. To be honest, I don’t find these coats the most flattering for my petite frame. They just have so much fabric! I get lost in the full length ones so I was thrilled when Elizabeth brought along a cropped teddy jacket (only $68.90) during our trip. The cropped style didn’t drown my frame and I loved the way it felt!

I love teddy coats for daily outfits. They are so cozy and fit well jeans.
