It doesn’t get much girlier than afternoon tea. So when deciding what to do to celebrate my birthday I gathered my friends and headed to the Peninsula Beverly Hills for tea, finger sandwiches, scones and champagne. So what does one wear to afternoon tea? Something extra feminine, of course!

For me, that was tulle and pearls. I instantly fell in love with this tulle confection. It just made me think of macarons and whipped cream over berries (which we ate plenty of!). Since I’ve been all about matchy-matchy recently, I brought out the ombré ruffles with my lilac sandals. And I already chatted about the pearl hair barrette trend that’s all over Instagram. I coordinated the $4 hair accessory with dainty pearl earrings and a pearl bag.

My friends went equally girlie in florals, pastels and ruffles. It was such a wonderful day and I can’t wait to have more afternoon tea soon! Hopefully I’ll get to do just that this week. I’m off to Paris today with my family. We haven’t taken a trip together in over ten years and I couldn’t think of a better place than my favorite city in the world.
