My Go-To Pandora Station for Background Music While Working

Sydne Style shows how to wear a cardigan for summer in yellow sweater and white jeans

I’ve never been very good about sitting in silence. It makes me uncomfortable. I start to fidget. And I just can’t concentrate. So I always need some type of background noise when I’m working. If I’m working at coffee shop or shared work space, I’m fine with the sounds of nearby chatter and typing. But when I’m working alone at home, Jack Jack’s occasional grunts just don’t do the trick.

In the past I’ve put the TV on, mostly show re-runs. But since I’m a visual person, I found myself constantly looking up to watch a little, even if it was the 89th time I saw Carrie get dumped by a post-it note. So I switched to music. I’ve always wished I knew more about music. I know my favorite song, Led Zeppelin “Stairway to Heaven,” and I know the genres I like and don’t like. But I usually let Pandora do my picking.

After months of trial and error, I finally discovered my go-to Pandora station to play while working:

Francis and the Lights Radio: Best Pandora Station for Working

I found this amazing station by watching Big Little Lies. I fell in love with the opening song of the show and discovered it was by Michael Kiwanuka. So I asked Alexa to play Pandora, Michael Kiwanuka. The station was good, but a little slow. But while listening I heard a song by Francis and the Lights. And then another, and another. So I though, hey Alexa, let’s try Pandora, Francis and the Lights. And that’s basically the station I’ve listen to every day while blogging ever since!

Anytime friends come over, they always comment about what a good station I have on in the background. Again, I’m not musically inclined so for me, this is a huge compliment. The other week, I had a friend staying with me and she suggested I share my music finding on the blog. So here you go! If you need something to listen to while you work, I couldn’t recommend it more.

Some of my fave songs on Pandora “Francis and the Lights” radio:

  • Francis and the Lights “It’s Alright to Cry”
  • Alabama Shakes “This Feeling”
  • Michael Kiwanuka “Cold Little Heart”
  • Vallis Alps “Young”
  • Quinn XCII “Native Tongue”
  • Alina Baraz & Galimatias “Can I”
  • Francis and the Lights “Etc”
  • Chris Stapleton “Tennessee Whiskey”

Hmm, interesting advice. But I would like to play music myself. Could you tell me about where I can get a piano for this?

I really wanted a piano before, but everyone told me that pianos are very expensive and so I abandoned this idea. But then a friend of mine advised me this site where you can also look at the piano. I really liked that there is an affordable price and quick delivery. That’s pretty cool!
