“On Wednesdays, we wear pink.” — Mean Girls

Brights are huge this season. If you’re not afraid of color, I highly suggest hot pink coats (and you don’t have to only wear them on Wednesdays like Regina & Co.). When I was in New York with my girls Sheryl and An, we got to play around in Adam Lippes‘ showroom. We were immediately drawn to the designer’s hot pink pieces. We each selected our favorites to borrow and went back to our hotel rooms to style some looks.

Clearly we’re best friends (and total California girls) because we all style our hot pink with denim. I went with the car coat, because I felt the knee length hemline would create a long lean line with my cropped jeans. If it was cooler that day, I would have gone with leather leggings and a black sweater. But you don’t have to be scared of a long coat if you’re petite. Sheryl proved that perfectly in the longer menswear coat. Too scared of a bright coat? Follow An’s lead and use a hot pink blouse to add a playful pop of color.

I was so sad when we had to give the coats back. I would have worn mine all throughout winter!
