Today is National Sunscreen Day. While I haven’t been in the sun as much as I usually am this time of year, I still wear sunscreen every day. It’s so important to protect your skin even if you’re only going outside for a little bit. #1: summer thriller
I didn’t read this book during our picnic but Elizabeth gave it to me. We share books because we have similar reading tastes. And she wasn’t exaggerating when she said you can’t put this one down! Then She Was Gone follows the story about a teenager who goes missing. It goes back and forth between the present and the past, as seen through the eyes of the various characters involved. I literally tried to read this book as fast as I could because I could not wait to get to the end to find out what really happened to the girl. And when I neared the end of the book, I was shocked with the truth!

#2: safe sun
I’ve been a fan of Australian Gold for a while. They recently came out with a Botanical line and I’ve been enjoying the tinted face sunscreen. But my all-time favorite is the continuous spray sunscreen. It smells delicious! Even my mom, who doesn’t like most scents, commented how yummy it smelled when I sprayed it outside while quarantining down in San Diego. It’s also super easy to apply and not greasy at all.

#3: Just crop it
I love a good crop top for summer. And you can wear this one with just about anything! It’s a square neck style crop top and comes in both white and black (and it’s on sale!). For our balcony picnic, I paired it with a yellow midi skirt (also on sale). But I’ve also styled it under a blazer with shorts and jeans.

#4: woven chic
I love the feeling of this bag because it’s a mix of casual canvas bag you’d bring to the farmer’s market and the elegant woven bag you’d wear on a fancier vacation. But it’s all in one roomy style. It comes in black and brown but I felt the tobacco color leather goes with everything. I’ve been wearing it with everything from jeans and tees to flirty dresses and skirts.

#5: binge worthy
I binged on Season 2 of Dead to Me in one night last week. It’s that good! If you haven’t seen the first season, I won’t spoil it for you. But the premise of the show is a widow (Christina Applegate) who while look for her husband’s killer befriends a cooky lady (Linda Cardellini) who is very different that the innocent character she first seems. The second season is just as good as the first. My only recommendation is to start watching earlier in the evening so you don’t stay up all night like I did!
