Happy National Lipstick Day! I used to always put on red lipstick on days I was feeling a little down. It would instantly perk up my mood. But for the past few months, I’ve really only been wearing lip moisturizer since I don’t want to get colorful lipstick all over my face masks. That’s why I came up with the Sydne Summer Red Eyelet face mask, which makes for the perfect face mask for National Lipstick Day. When I wear it, it makes me feel like I have that confident pop of color that red lipstick used to provide.

I’ve mostly been wearing it with a white t-shirt and jeans when I run errands with Jack Jack. But I felt like playing dress up in my floral eyelet face mask for National Lipstick Day, so I slipped on a pretty red floral dress and my pearl mask necklace. These days, I only get dressed up because I want to feel pretty. It reminds me of when I was a little girl and I used to put on fashion shows with my little cousin at my grandmother’s house. We’d sneak into her closet and go through her beautiful silk scarves and costume jewelry and parade around like we were supermodels. Since I never have an occasion to dress up anymore, putting on a pretty dress brings back that nostalgic feeling of playing dress-up. It reminds me on one of favorite quotes by Kate Spade:
