I’ve always loved monochromatic outfits. Dressing in one color from head to toe instantly makes an outfit looks more expensive. It really doesn’t matter what color you choose. You can use the same tips for any color. I’ve been super into neutrals for summer. So this look I did in all beige. Here are the three styling tips for wearing monochromatic outfits that I like to follow no matter what color I’m using for a monochromatic look:
#1 don’t worry about an exact match
When you’re wearing one color from head to toe you don’t have to worry about the colors matching perfectly. Instead, try out different shades. For example, my top and my jeans are a lighter shade of beige. While my accessories are a darker shade of the neutral tone.
#2 play with different textures
To add interest to your outfit, play with various fabrics. For summer, I like cottons, linens and lightweight denim. Since my outfit was a solid beige, I added a subtle punch through the tonal polka dots of my Sydne Summer Almond Dot face mask.
#3 add shine with metallics
I always like to elevate my monochromatic looks with a touch of metallic. I used two accessories to do this with my neutrals outfit: my nude YSL bag that has a gold chain, and a gold mask chain necklace that I attached to my face mask. If you’re not a gold person like me, you can achieve the same look with silver as well.
I hope these styling tips for wearing monochromatic outfits helped you if you were thinking about trying out this trend for summer. Whatever color you go with, stay safe!
