Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays. I just love dressing up! This year, I was inspired by a quote that I love:
“The wolrd is your oyster. It’s up to you to find the pearls.”

Instead of finding the pearls, I decided to be the pearls, along with my oyster, Jack Jack. I love DIY-ing Halloween costumes, so I used costume jewelry I already had, along with some new finds, to create my pearls Halloween costume. As for JJ? All he had to wear was a dog shell backpack to get the look of my oyster.
A pearls Halloween costume is pretty easy to recreate. You can go as embellished as you like. Here’s how I created mine:
- {DRESS}
I started with a white bodysuit and then cinched my waist with a pearl belt. Then I attached pearl strands to the belt to get the look of a pearl fringe skirt. If you’re not in the mood for a DIY project, you can just wear a pearl embellished dress. I rounded some up below. - {JEWELRY}
I have a ton of costume pearl necklaces. So I just kept layering them on. You can also just buy a layered pearl costume necklace. For the rest of the jewelry, just use what you have! Whether it’s pearl earrings, a pearl headband, pearl anklets, or all the pearls like I did. - {FACE MASK}
Safety is key this Halloween. I simply embellished my almond face mask with pearl stickers. Then I added one of my pearl mask necklaces. - {MAKEUP & NAILS}
I used the same pearl stickers for my beauty. I added them to white eye makeup and a French manicure.
Even though I won’t get to wear my costume to Halloween parties like I have in years past, it was fun to play dress up with Jack Jack. And we could all use a little more fun in our lives right now. The costume ended up reminding me of my fave pumpkin DIY project: pearl pumpkins. As Jackie Kennedy once said, “pearls are always appropriate” … even for Halloween.
