I hope you had a great Halloween weekend! I stayed in with Jack Jack and watched Hocus Pocus but I did end up getting to wear my Catwoman costume while meeting a friend for a social distance brunch date. To be honest, all I can think about this week is the election. It’s so nerve racking! I voted early but if you haven’t already, I encourage you to head to the polls today or tomorrow. While we wait for results, which I’m hoping won’t take as long as some people are saying, here are a few recents faves for a distraction:
5 THINGS I’M LOVING RIGHT NOW
#1: 24/7 top
I’ve been living in my Sydne Summer lounge collection. The off the shoulder top is a slouchy style fit that keeps me super comfy at home. But I love the way it shows just a slip of skin, making it perfect for my occasional nighttime outings as well. I love just slipping it on with jeans and adding boots and, of course, a face mask.
This quilted bag has become my new every night bag. Granted, I don’t go out as night as much as I used to. But if I do, I instantly gravitate toward this bag. It has the look of my Chanel, but it’s much roomier so I can include my bigger hand sanitizer sprays. Plus, the price lets me feel at ease when I wear it outside. I also like that it has a longer chain, so you can wear it as a crossbody or double the strap for a shoulder bag.
I don’t think I’ve ever worn sneakers more in my life as I have the past 6 months. For me, it’s been all about comfy chic style. The newest member to my sneaker collection? These vegan sneakers from Soludos. I have the navy but they come in a bunch of different colors. Not only are the sneakers vegan (yay for animals!) but they’re also plant based, which is non-toxic to the environment. Plus they’re super cute, so it’s a triple win in my book.
Talk about a page turner! I could not put The Last Flight down because I wanted o find out what was next after every page. The book follows two women, who exchange identities at the airport just before a flight. It flashes back between the months leading up to the flight and what happens after they board their planes, in efforts to escape very different, but connected, lives. I’ll admit I wasn’t a fan of the ending. But the book kept me thoroughly entertained nonetheless.
My skin tends to be on the oily side, especially when it’s hot out. We’ve been having hotter than usual weather on and off for weeks in LA, which means my forehead has been shining as bright as the north star. So I’ve been utilizing all the mattifying beauty products I have. Before applying my makeup and primer, I’ve been washing my face with Philosophy’s oil free version of the Purity cleanser I’ve used for a while. It has really helped reduce my unwanted high shine.
