As you can probably tell from the photo above, there is something for everyone when it comes to the top color trends for spring/summer 2021. Whether you love vibrant rainbow hues, more serene, soft shades or are a forever neutrals girl, this season has you covered!
We already chatted about the two biggest colors of the year: yellow and gray. Now let’s get into what shades are on trend for spring and summer….
Not so mellow yellow
Illuminating (yellow) is one of the biggest colors of the year. But there’s also Marigold, which is a richer orangey-yellow shade. I personally like mixing them both! They also work well with adding a pop of color to neutral and denim outfits through accessories.
gorgeous in green
There are two greens that are big: Green Ash, a lighter pastel shade, and Mint, a more vibrant green like the mint in a refreshing mojito.
Similar to green, there is a lighter and more vibrant blue: Cerulean, which is a soft, serene shade, and French Blue, which is a vibrant color reminiscent of springtime in Paris.
pretty in pink (and purple)
My little girl self would be thrilled considering I had one year I only wore pink and purple! Raspberry Sorbet and Orchid Amethyst are vibrant pinks and purples that add a major pop of color. And Burnt Coral is a lighter peachy-pink.
Rust is usually thought of as more of a fall color. But I love how it adds an earthy element to spring and summer looks. I have a rust bathing suit I absolutely love wearing and I’m definitely eyeing more terracotta color pieces for my wardrobe.
Neutrals are a classic. But according to Pantone there are 5 neutrals that are big for spring and summer: Ulimate Gray (the color of the year), Inkwell (black), Buttercream (a soft off-white), Desert Mist (a neutral sand shade) and Willow (an earthy greenish-taupe). Chances are, you already have most of these in your closet!
