My pregnancy was a surprise. Not wanting any more surprises, I decided to skip a gender reveal party and instead have my doctor tell me the sex of my baby as soon as my blood tests came back. I learned I was having a boy very shortly after discovering I was pregnant. I told my family and friends pretty immediately. But I did want to do something fun and celebratory on Instagram. That’s what led me to search online for gender reveal dress ideas to make you feel like a Disney princess.
My favorite Disney movie growing up was Sleeping Beauty. To announce the gender of my baby, I wanted to film a video inspired by the scene where Aurora’s fairy godmothers are making her a gown. Flora wants it to be pink. Merryweather wants it to be blue. It ends up being a magical burst of contrasting colors , which is later continued in the final scene when Princess Aurora and Prince Phillip dance at at the ball and live happily ever after.
I fell in love with this rosette chiffon gown. It actually comes in pink and blue. But instead of getting both I just bought the blue. Then I used Videoleap to swap the colors of the dress back and forth from blue to pink for my Instagram reels. It was so fun twirling around in Beverly Hills. And the dress majorly made me feel like a Disney Princess… if Disney ever made a movie about a pregnant princess!
I filmed it at 17 weeks pregnant so I sized up two sizes to fit my bump. It’s definitely a splurge. So I went online to find more gender reveal dress ideas to make you feel like a Disney princess at every price point…
