Head to Toe Sparkle at Tracy Reese

Sydne Style takes you to the Tracy Reese runway show with Sarah Jessica Parker, Mary Kay Cosmetics, and lots of sparkles at New York City Fashion Week 2015.One of my fashion week highlights has been sitting across from Sarah Jessica Parker at the Tracy Reese show. And I have Mary Kay to thank for that. The beauty brand was sweet enough to bring me backstage before the runway to witness the makeup come to life. Then they sat me smack in front of one of my top fashion icons! The whole experience can be summed up in one word: sparkle.

Tracy Reese was inspired by light and transparency for her Spring 2016 collection. So she incorporated sparkle and shine through understated sequins and rhinestones.

Beauty Sparkle
The inspiration translated to makeup with luminous skin and sparkly freckles. I included an exact breakdown of how to get the look at the bottom of the post. But here are the three Mary Kay products that stood out to me the most:

Satin Lips Mask: You apply to this to your lips then rub off after about two minutes. It’s on the spot exfoliation!
Mary Kay at Play Bold Fluid Eyeliner in Gold Metal: I loved how this metallic finish instantly lights up the eye.
True Dimensions Lipstick in Sizzling Red: The sheer lipstick makes it look as if you just ate a popsicle.

Obviously the rhinestone freckles were a special occasion effect. But the rest of the look totally works in real life! Tracy Reese kept to dewy skin for herself, and added a more dramatic version of the runway lip with bolder pink. I did the same in red (I’ll post more of my full look later this week).

Smile Sparkle
I could not stop staring at SJP’s smile. Did you see the photo I posted on Instagram? She even replied!

Shoe Sparkle
The shoes on the runway were all SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker. I loved the glitter ones SJ was wearing. There are similar sparkly pumps versions online in classic pointy and t-strap.

From rhinestone cheeks, to metallic dresses and glitter shoes, it was a sparkly day I certainly won’t forget!

Sydne Style shows how to to get the makeup look backstage at Tracy Reese fashion week– Get the Look –

Face: Skin is prepped for a glowing, luminous finish. First, the Satin Lips Mask is applied to the lips for 1-2 minutes to exfoliate and prep for lipstick application. TimeWise Repair Volu-Firm Night Treatment with Retinol is mixed with TimeWise Luminous-Wear Liquid Foundation to create a radiant complexion. Mary Kay Concealer is applied under the eyes and as needed. Next, Mary Kay Extra Emollient Night Cream is applied on the brow bone and around the eye area for a subtle glow.

Eyes: The eyes feature a defined lash created using Lash Love Lengthening Mascara in black. A bronzed eye look is created by applying Mary Kay Mineral Eye Color in Amber Blaze (fair skin) or Rosegold (darker skin) with a fluffy brush from the lash line and blending downward. Mary Kay At Play Bold Fluid Eyeliner in Gold Metal is applied on top and blended with the shadow downward and across the lash line using a pointy brush. NouriShine Plus Lip Gloss in Silver Moon is dabbed onto the lid for extra, light catching shimmer.

Lips: A dewy, “bitten” lip look is created by applying True Dimensions Lipstick in Sizzling Red. Color is dabbed on the lip, brought just above the top lip line in areas and blended with fingers to create a stain. NouriShine Plus Lip Gloss in Pink Wink is applied on top to the center of the lip.

Cheeks: A soft, rosy cheek adds a pop of color creating a “just in the wind” look with the Mary Kay At Play Lip & Cheek Stick in Peach Pop (fair skin) or Razzleberry (dark skin). Color is applied in a circular motion and blended using a sponge or fingers until you get a stain. Rhinestone “freckles” are applied for added sparkle.

*Thank you to Mary Kay for partnering on this post*
