The holidays are just around the corner. And when the first party invite comes, I start thinking sparkle. So when Refinery 29 invited me to the Simon G Jewerly showroom I immediately brought out my sequins. But my sparkle didn’t even compare to Simon G’s gorgeous holiday collection. I instantly gravitated toward the colorful jewels: sapphires, emerald and pink tourmaline. My favorite ring ended up being diamonds wrapped around an aquamarine sparkler, which also happens to be my birthstone. I even learned about a new gemstone: watermelon tourmaline. It looks just like a fresh slice of the summer fruit!

It was so cool getting a tour of the diamond factory and learning how much work goes into a single piece from the the drawing process and wax molding to the microscopic work to make sure everything is perfect. There were so many jewels that I’d love to put on my holiday wish list!

In the meantime, I’m sparkling with my fashion. To wear sequins for daytime, I made them more casual with a pair of ripped skinny jeans. I loved how the striped sequin top mixed navy and black so I stuck with the color scheme by adding a blue bag then brought out the pink of the shirt with matching pumps. The colors ended up complimenting the Simon G jewelry perfectly. I hope all of you have a sparkly weekend!
