Over the years I’ve had a love-hate relationship with pink. When I was a kid, there was a period I refused to wear anything but pink and purple. When I graduated college, I deemed pink too Barbie and removed the color from my wardrobe. Over the past year, I’ve realized I’ve been wearing more and more pink. And right now I’m having a moment with pastel pink.

There’s a softness about baby pink that can be so sophisticated. In tomorrow’s video (subscribe to see it first!) I’m styling a couple of different pastel looks. But today I wanted to show the easiest way to make such a sweet color look all grown up: going monochromatic. You’ve been seeing this trend on my blog a lot recently. Basically it’s wearing a color from head-to-toe while playing with different textures. I did wool with a pastel pink coat, knits with a soft turtleneck and denim with pink skinny jeans. Then I used muted metallics to bring it all together. When I was shooting this look the most adorable dog came up to me.  So I just had to include him and his ginormous pink tongue in today’s post too.
