Last year I did an Ask Sydne column on how to make sneakers look cute. Since the shoe trend keeps getting more and more popular I figured I’d update the column for summer. One way I love wearing sneakers during warmer months is with little dresses. I just customized these Keds with my initials, so I took inspiration from the navy and white design I created by pairing them with a striped dress. How cute is the tie-front style?
The right handbag can instantly make sneakers look more chic. This new denim purse has gold chain straps, which elevates the look. I finished it off with some simple white and gold accessories then spent the day walking around Venice with friends (and no foot pain!). I don’t really like sneakers much. I also don’t believe in the whole “pair everything with sneakers” or the “just add sneakers” approach to fashion. However, there are instances where sneakers can actually be a better shoe choice than a pair of flats, pumps, sandals, or even boots. They are perfectly fine here. I tend to like Keds more than Converses as far as feminine canvas sneakers go. So I applaud you here on this style job.
I don’t think I’ve commented before on “Sydne Style.” Great to be here and follow your work, though.
