Earlier this spring I showed two easy DIY ideas for refreshing the classic white button-down. Well this week, Rita Ora inspired me to create a third. The new America’s Next Top Model judge stepped out in NYC in a Hellessy off-the-shoulder top that’s just perfect for transitioning into fall. I found a replica online for only $17 but decided instead to try doing a DIY of my own.
I started with an oversize white button down shirt and folded it at the neckline so it was left off my shoulders. Then I layered an off-the-shoulder crop top over the button-up, tucking in any loose fabric. Like Rita, I slipped into black culottes and white pumps. I slicked my hair back into a bun, and used a new hair cuff I got in NY to make the updo a little more chic.
