This was my third trip to Sydney, Australia. Undeniably, the biggest photo op is in front of the Sydney Opera House. There are many places you can take photos of the landmark building. Until this trip, my favorite spot was onboard the ferry, which passes under the Harbour Bridge. But a moving boat doesn’t exactly result in a pretty hair moment. Luckily, my photographer friend Angie, who is originally from Sydney, introduced me to the prime photo spot: The Rocks.
The Rocks is a historic area in the city centre. I’ve walked around the area before but this was the first time I visited the Park Hyatt Sydney. We first shot in the back of the hotel, taking in the Opera House and the city in the reflections of the windows. Then, we walked along the harbour for direct views of the majestic building in all her glory. Even though it was a cloudy day, the scenery couldn’t have been any more perfect. A bonus? After we finished our photos, we sat at the lobby bar to cool off with a delicious glass of rosé.
As for my outfit, the Opera House inspired me to wear a lot of white during my stay. I love lace because it doesn’t wrinkle when you travel. My dress is actually an Aussie brand I discovered during a previous trip! And I practically lived in espadrilles all three weeks of my #sydneinsydney holiday. I hope our secret photo spot helps you next time you’re visiting down under!
