The countdown is on! Valentine’s Day is just one week away. I already brought you my ultimate Valentine’s Day Heart shopping guide so I thought today we’d chat about what to wear. I know, a red dress on Valentine’s Day. Revolutionary. But it’s such a simple staple to have in your wardrobe that you can wear so many different ways. I went with a red pencil dress (only $98!) because it’s a classic you can easily style from Day to Night.

For day, I made the dress office-appropriate by layering a white button-down shirt underneath. It’s such an easy trick to make your dresses a bit more conservative for the work place. To transition it into a Valentine’s Day dinner date, I simply removed the shirt, swapped my necklace for statement earrings, took off the strap of my bag and slipped on a fun fringe jacket.

I’m flying home from New York Fashion Week on Valentine’s Day so I probably won’t get to wear my look night of. But my boyfriend smiled when he saw me try on this dress so luckily this simple Day to Night trick works year-round!
