When winter rolls around, my skin slowly starts to dry out. Between cold wind, heat blasting at the office and snow giving your entire body a chill I’m sure many of you have the same skincare issues. So I wanted to share three easy changes I make to my beauty routine to help my skin glow just as bright as it did in warmer months.
Replace hot water with cold.
I know it sounds weird to go cold in winter. But too much hot water can dry out your skin further. If you’re like me, and can’t stand the thought of a cold shower, at least use cold water when you’re washing your face.
Switch up your moisturizer.
It’s important to switch up your skincare. Neutrogena has been a longtime favorite of mine so I was thrilled when they introduced me to the new Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Regenerating Cream. Retinol is great for preventing wrinkles (something I’ve been focusing on in my 30s!). But since it tends to dry out your skin, I generally shy away from it in winter months. But Neutrogena’s retinol cream is packed with moisturizing ingredients to keep skin nourished.
I’ve been using it for over a week now and I’ve definitely noticed more of a glow! So I don’t forget to apply it every morning and night, I’ve been keeping it on my bedside table. Bonus? The minimalist glass jar fits right in with my white and marble decor.
Infuse your water.
It’s important to stay hydrated all 365 days of the year. But during the winter I find myself reaching for coffee more than water. To make my H2O more inviting, I’ve been infusing it with fruits and herbs. Not only does it taste better, causing me drink more, but many ingredients benefit your skin. Blackberries are high in antioxidants and mint is said to help with acne. It’s a win, win!
Do you have any winter skincare tips you swear by? I’d love to hear them!
