New York Fashion Week Throwback Thursday

Sydne Style shows how to wear a maxi skirt in winterHappy Fashion Week! New York Fashion Week officially kicks off today and I couldn’t be more excited. February is a rough month because I get so excited about upcoming spring fashions but it’s brutally cold in New York! Last year I remember waking up and looking at the weather and it said 0. It was literally zero degrees outside. And this morning I woke up to a winter wonderland snowstorm. Crazy!

I’ll, of course, be bringing you along with me for all the fashion week insanity both on my blog and all my social media channels. If there’s anything specific you want to see just let me know! Here’s what I have planned so far so you can follow along:

  • Sydne Style: This year I’ll be doing a daily diary of my looks, the runway and more!
  • Instagram: I’ll be doing live updates on Insta Stories as well as my favorite shots on Instagram. Let me know if you’d be interested in any Instagram Live Stories and I’ll schedule those in as well!
  • Facebook:  Runway! I’ll be posting my faves from the show right after they happen. I can’t wait to hear your faves.
  • Twitter: Let’s get real! Stay tuned for random thoughts and insight into the week.

So as I set out to begin New York Fashion week I wanted to do a little Throwback Thursday of my four favorite looks from last year:

Bold & Bright

My absolute fave skirt was this Nicole Miller artistic print maxi. To make it wintery I paired it with over-the-knee boots and a leather jacket.

With the frigid temperatures I tried to incorporate as many layers as possible. Wearing a knit tunic over leather leggings and knee-high boots did just the trick!

This was my favorite coat from last year. The pink was perfect for Valentine’s Day. And the faux fur kept me super cozy.

Dressing in one color from head-to-toe instantly gives a sophisticated vibe. I also adore this pic because we shot it in front of one of my favorite buildings in Flat Iron. I brought this coat with me again and plan on doing a new variation of this classic camel look.

I hope you enjoyed this quick trip down memory lane! And I’ll see you on Instagram from NYC!
