What to Wear for Fall When It’s Still Hot Out

Sydne Style shows how to dress for fall when its still hotMother Nature doesn’t always get the memo that September means sweater weather. In many part of the country, it’s still super hot out. So what do you wear for fall when it’s still warm? Well, this is a question I asked myself while packing for New York Fashion Week in the middle of a LA heatwave. Here are a few tips I came up with:

1. Stick to a fall color palette.

The easiest way to look like you’re ready for fall is by playing with color. Two huge colors for Fall 2017 are red and blue. I combined both with my outfit and accessories. Even though I’m still showing a lot of skin to beat the heat, the overall color scheme screams fall ready!

2. Play with lace.

Lace is a great material for year-round because it doesn’t show sweat. The patterned fabric of my lace top and skirt gives a luxe fall vibe. And since it’s a thicker material, you’d never know how much I was perspiring underneath!

3. Sleeveless turtlenecks are your BFFs.

I’m a huge fan of sleeveless turtlenecks for fall. They look season appropriate but still allow you to go out with bare arms. I’ve been wearing them a ton recently, especially in a mock turtleneck version. I had just gotten my hair cut this day so I wore it down. But turtleneck styles also allow you to wear a ponytail and still look chic (another great tip for warmer fall days!).

It’s cooler in NYC than I thought so I’ll probably be pairing this skirt with a sweater instead of the matching top I originally planned. You can follow along to see what I wear and peek into my favorite shows at Fashion Week over on my Insta Stories (I’m @sydnesummer). I’m also sharing runway looks over on my Facebook page if we’re friends over there too. Have a fab weekend!
