Out of every space in my new home I’ve been using the kitchen the most. This isn’t because I cook a lot. While I do dabble in cooking adventures here and there the reason the kitchen has become the most used space is thanks to its new design.
The original layout of my condo had a wall separating the kitchen from the living room. The previous owner knocked down the wall but left a raised bar area. The slab of black marble couldn’t hold much more than a drink or slim vase.
Before & After
My designer, Jean Luxe, came up with the brilliant idea to level out the raised bar area for an open kitchen island design. We used Caesarstone quartz for a marble look that offers easy clean-up then carried the quartz up as a backsplash underneath the white and glass cabinets.
Wanting to keep the fluid white feel in the kitchen, I decided on a white stove top. I know it’s an odd choice but I just love how it blends effortlessly into the quartz countertop (thank you Ferguson for helping me find the perfect one!).
Having a new open kitchen island meant I needed great seating. I fell in love with these acrylic counter stools from Kathy Kuo home. Since they’re one of the first things you see when you enter the apartment, I was drawn to how the clear lucite blended in with the space while the touch of gold created a luxe vibe. They’re actually really comfy too! I find myself sitting in them from morning coffee to entertaining friends with Miravel rosé in the evening.
New glass cabinets also meant I needed to upgrade my dinnerware and glassware. I turned to Snowe for contemporary bundle sets. I mixed in the new pieces some metallics and old crystal passed down from my grandparent’s.
My favorite part of the kitchen is the lemon print I created with my photographer, Michelle. You can check out this video to see how we did the artwork. We’re thinking of doing a limited edition series. I’d love to hear your thoughts!

I saw this article a hundred years ago and remember that your refrigerator is very similar to mine, Is it sub-zero? The fact is that my broke and I had to look for a good service for repairing refrigerators, and not many services are engaged in repairing sub-zero, so I want to recommend these guys to you https://fuseservicecolorado.com/brand/sub-zero-refrigerators-repair/ I hope you don’t need it, but just in case, you or someone else might need it.
What a beautiful kitchen. I know this is a few years old, but it is still holding strong with your design selections.

I really like how the bright kitchen looks, it’s just amazing. This adds space to the room. Even if you have a small kitchen, you can always make the right arrangement of furniture and add light details that will visually increase the space. Details always matter a lot, I chose the light quartz slabs for me, they not only look luxurious but are also very practical.
The choice of colors and materials creates a warm and inviting atmosphere that would make anyone feel right at kitchen.
