Some dress codes are easier than others. Black tie? That makes sense. But dressy? That can mean so many different things! On Day 7 of 12 Days of Holiday Style we’re going over what to wear to a dressy holiday party.
Depending where you live, or who is throwing the party, there are different levels of “dressy.” I always err on the side of being over-dressed rather than under-dressed. But I still don’t want to show up in a gown if everyone else is in a cocktail dress. That’s why I love the midi dress trend. A dress that hits just below the knee is the perfect medium for any dressy party!
I went with a high neck midi dress (now on sale!) to elongate my body since I’m on the petite side. The sheer hemline also helps make you look taller since it shows a little leg (lace has the same effect). Another lengthening trick? Pointy pumps. I thought these crystal ball pumps (also on sale!) screamed holiday party.
