I’m a firm believer that when you find a piece clothing that you absolutely love, you should buy it multiple colors. Years ago, I fell in love with J. Crew’s silk button-down shirts. You’ve seen them on my blog more times than I can count. After years of wear, it was finally time for a replacement.
I was disappointed to find that my favorite double pocket style was discontinued. So I decided to try the new single pocket silk button-down. To be honest, I still prefer the old style. But I’ve worn my black and white one to threads. This one is almost as perfect. So after wearing the white one twice, I bought it in multiple colors.
The shirt works with anything from jeans, as shown here, to skirts and pants. They’re also great for layering under sweaters! And as you can see from theses posts where I wore it in black in 2013Â and three ways in white in 2012, it never goes out of style!
As much as I love showing you guys the latest trends, I also think it’s important to invest in classics. So I hope you like today’s post. If I have the item in multiples, you know I’m obsessed with it and it’s a classic. I’ll be bringing you more posts over the next couple month of other items I have in multiples in my closet.

Last month, I finally found the perfect pair of high-waisted wide-leg trousers for work. They fit perfectly right off the rack, so I immediately went back online to order them in navy, camel, and olive green. My bank actually flagged the back-to-back purchases as suspicious! While sitting at my desk eating a quick salad, I had to look up the Mastercard customer service number to clear the fraud alert so my order would go through. It was a slight hassle, but absolutely worth it.
