The other week we chatted about the puff sleeve trend that’s been majorly popping up this summer. Today, I’m combining the puff sleeve with another big summer trend: the crop top. I love the way a voluminous sleeve adds extra fabric to a crop top, making you feel less naked when you wear it. I also feel like the sleeve instantly makes a crop top look more glam. There are so many options out there right now. My red crop top is only only $18 (it also comes in white). I rounded up some more affordable options so you don’t have to spend much to try the trend…

with jeans
Now let’s chat about how to wear a puff sleeve crop top. My favorite way is with denim. I always go for a high waist bottom when wearing crop tops so I only show a slip of skin. A pair of jeans with a straight or wide leg balances out the more voluminous puff sleeve (you can run the risk of looking top heavy in skinny jeans). I matched my top with my fave red lipstick then stuck with neutral accessories to let the bold color pop.
with a skirt
I also like pairing puff sleeve crop tops with skirts. Again, you’ll notice that my bottom is high waist. I went for a knee length skirt to give the look a more polished feel. But polished doesn’t mean expensive. This linen skirt is only $22! I did neutral accessories again to let the bold red color stand out. I’ve talked about these nude block sandals before but they’re seriously the comfiest shoes ever. I’ve been wearing them non stop this summer!
I hope these ideas get you inspired to play around with some new styles this summer!
Recently, I started wearing Forever 21 as well. Perhaps it’s because of the shift in my fashion preferences, but their most recent line is truly distinctive. Oh, and your choice of top is exceptionally impressive! If my body type allowed for such an ensemble, I would undoubtedly consider purchasing a similar one without any hesitation 🙂 As someone who wears a size L, it’s sometimes hard to find clothing that fits well.
