I’ve always been more of a bikini girl than a one-piece woman when it comes to bathing suits. But I do love getting a new one-piece every season because it makes it so easy to go from day to night. These days, swimsuits are so chic that they easily double as a bodysuit worn with shorts, skirts, jeans or pants.

This season, I’ve been drawn to retro one-piece swimsuits. I love the corset design on this black one-piece. The softly padded cups do wonders for a smaller chest, like mine. And as much as I wish I could wear bathing suits with high cuts, they simply don’t work for my love handles (I talked more about this in my high waist bikinis review). So I much prefer the fuller coverage of this vintage design.

off the beach
With it’s corset design, my black one-piece bathing suit easily transitions off the beach. My friend borrowed it and wore it with jeans (which looked super cute). I wanted the look of a jumpsuit so I added my black wide leg pants. I’ve had these for years and find myself grabbing them non stop every summer. The slit makes them breezy enough to wear on or off the beach. Mine are long gone but I found similar palazzo pants here and here.
I brought out the floral embroidery of the bathing suit with pops of red. This red lipstick has been my go-to for years. And I just picked up this red headband after discovering that fabric headbands don’t give me a headache. Now if only June gloom would go away in Los Angeles so I could pair my day-to-night outfit with a tan!
