I love the ease of a romper. You pull it on and you’re one and done. But shorts sets are definitely more versatile. Worn together, the top and shorts give the look of a romper. Plus, you can buy different sizes if you’re smaller on top and larger on bottom, like me, or vice versa. And you can wear the separates with other pieces in your wardrobe for endless styling possibilities.

I was instantly drawn Victorian vibes of this floral top. So I ordered it with the matching shorts to wear them together for a romper look… and to wear the separate for day and night summer outfits.

Worn together, the floral top and shorts give the look of a romper. I like these floral shorts because they’re high waist (flattering for curves!) and a bit longer in the back (perfect if you have a booty!). They come with a matching belt, but I swapped it for my Gucci belt to dress up the look. When wearing shorts at night, I love lengthening my leg with a nude heel. I did slingback pumps for a more summertime feel.

For a summer date night look, I contrasted the feminine top with distressed denim. I’ve had these high waist jeans for years! I used gold accessories (my go-to gold hoops and gold chain nude bag) for a bit of shine.

When I’m walking Jack Jack, I live in denim shorts. But for a more polished vibe, floral shorts are a great alternative. I put the matching belt back on and added a cropped cami (now on sale!).  Side note: if you happen to visit Newport Beach, I highly recommend renting a duffy boat at Lido Marina Village. I’ve gone out with my friends at sunset and it’s such a fun way to see the area.
