To be honest, I’m not a huge Valentine’s Day person. Whether I’m in a relationship or not, I’m not one of those girls who gets obsessed with Valentine’s Day. I feel like every day is an opportunity to express how much you love someone, whether it’s a partner or a friend. That being said, I love any excuse to dress in a theme. So I usually treat Valentine’s Day as a holiday to play with girlie fashion.
This year, Valentine’s Day falls on a Friday. So many of us will be coming from the office with little time to change before night. So I wanted to show some inspiration for Valentine’s Day outfits that can go from work to date night with just a few quick styling swaps. I used this cute lips print dress for both looks. But if you’re not a fan of the pattern, you could easily recreate the looks with a solid color midi dress. I rounded up some Valentine’s Day outfits below that would work equally as well:

at the office
For a Valentine’s Day office look, I turned my dress into a skirt by layering a cropped sweater on top. I went with a hot pink sweater but you could do this with any color that goes with your dress. The trick is making sure the sweater is a thicker material than your dress. It also helps if you belt it to stay in place. You can add a tailored blazer for an even more professional vibe.
Obviously a black pump could work. But I did hot pink for the holiday. Plus, if you’re going straight to dinner from the office, a festive pump means you don’t need to change shoes!
for date night
For nighttime, I slipped off the layers and let the dress do the talking. You can throw a clutch into your office bag for a quick purse swap. And if it’s cold, you can always drape the blazer over your shoulders. Taking off your shoes and running through a fountain with love is completely optional.
That’s a gorgeous dress! And it’s perfect for Valentine’s Day, it’s fun and colourful, it’s gorgeous.
